Lead Climber

We are looking for a well-motivated, skilled, and trustworthy individual who has the relevant qualifications and experience in all aspects of tree work to be a Lead Climber.

In this role, you will be expected to oversee the day–to–day running of a small team of up to 4 people. You will need excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with customers, oversee risk assessments, and carry out daily checks.

Salary

£35,000–£50,000 p.a.

Core Responsibilities

Leading a small team on-site to ensure work is completed safely, to a high standard and to the customer’s satisfaction
Carrying out all aspects of tree work, including climbing, rigging, and ground operations
Deploy, operate, and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment safely and effectively
Providing an effective response to scheduled and ad-hoc tree works that will vary on a day-to-day basis
Using full safety and climbing equipment in accordance with current safety guidelines and industry best practice
Conducting and following on-site risk assessments and promoting safe working practices
Completing all relevant documentation and records (handwritten and electronic) in a timely and comprehensive manner in line with agreed policies and procedures
Liaising with clients on-site and representing Broadleaf Tree Surgery with professionalism
Organising, supporting, and mentoring other staff members

Required Experience & Qualifications

CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39
Full UK Driving Licence
Minimum of 5 years experience (preferred)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Efficient organiser and good time management
Able to work on own initiative
Highly adaptable and able to lead
Happy to work outside in all weather conditions
Prepared to work at any site specified

Second Climber

We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and trustworthy person to join our existing team.

In this role, you will be expected to carry out both climbing operations and ground-based tasks. You will also assist the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the team. We are looking for candidates with good communication skills and an eye for detail.

£25,000–£40,000 p.a.

Carrying out all aspects of arboricultural work effectively and safely, this will include working at height and ground-based operations
Safely climbing trees regularly using a variety of climbing aids and systems
Using full safety and climbing equipment in accordance with current safety guidelines and industry best practice
Demonstrating good health & safety practices, such as the completion of site-specific risk assessments
Deploy, operate, and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment safely and effectively
Providing an effective response to scheduled and ad hoc tree works that will vary on a day-to-day basis
Following on-site procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices
Completing all relevant documentation and records (handwritten and electronic) in a timely and comprehensive manner in line with agreed policies and procedures

Groundsman

We are looking for candidates (experienced or not) who are punctual, reliable, and can complement the existing team. You will be expected to have good communication skills for working with customers and assisting the team in day-to-day activities.
